The four stages of the fat elimination cycle
The four stage fat elimination cycle are four specific stages that all play a significant role in helping you achieve your weight loss goals.
STAGE 1 – Days 1 & 2
Eat as much as you want, focusing on good quality fat such as cream, butter, eggs, avocados, coconut oil, nuts, high fat meat and fish etc. This is so much fun!
STAGE 2 – Days 3 to 21*
Eat fruit, salad, vegetable and meat (there is a vegetarian version) but in specific quantities. These quantities will be provided to you. This is where you will begin to lose approximately 300gms on average a day – we’ve seen people lose 2 kg in 24 hours. The stored fat that is being released per day equals approximately 2500 calories of fat and nutrients that your body will use for energy and health. It is important to drink a lot of water to flush the fat cells. A complete guide on precisely what you can eat and also recipes to make this period as easy as possible will be provided.
*Please note if your weight loss is in excess of 12 kgs, stage two of the program can be extended for up to 40 days. Please speak to your consultant.
STAGE 3 – Days 22 to 25
Once you complete the active hCG weight loss cycle, you will remain on the very low calorie diet (VLCD) for a further 72 hours, to ensure that any remaining hCG is no longer circulating in your system. Do not be concerned, as your appetite will still remain low with hCG still circulating and continuing to redirect that nourishment whilst energy is taken from your body.
In the instance where you may have reached your goal weight or fat loss “set point” before these 3 days, your consultant may discuss options to increase your calorie intake slightly–however this will be personalised on an individual basis and closely monitored so that we can ensure all appropriate action is still taken to lock in your weight loss.
STAGE 4 – Days 26 to 47
This is where you stop counting calories and you start adding foods to your diet again. This is where you will learn your greatest knowledge about the foods that make you healthy and the foods that cause inflammation and sickness. This is a very important stage that will educate you for a lifetime of health and maintenance of your weight. Done properly, this will help you forever maintain your perfect weight and an increase in energy and health.
As day 27 begins you should concentrate on foods that are higher in protein. When the hCG is active in your body it was providing the levels of protein needed, however, its effects are now longer in your body and you will be on the verge of protein deficiency if you do not immediately increase your intake.
During these 3 weeks you may also begin to introduce fats such as nuts, nut butters, olive oil, flax seed oil, avocado and small amounts of dairy and cheese (be careful as high salt in some processed cheeses can result in fluid retention), vegetables and fruits.
The main fruits to avoid are those that are very sweet, such as pineapple or mango, or starchy vegetables such as potatoes, rice, corn or beans.
Other foods that MUST BE AVOIDED during this 3 weeks to lock in your weight loss are all types of breads and pastas, lollies, cakes and sweets. Try to also avoid processed food. Continuing to eat real whole foods will not only lock in your weight loss, it will also be a bonus to boost to your overall health.
PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED INTO THINKING THAT CONTINUED CALORIE RESTRICTION WILL HELP WITH THE WEIGHT LOSS.
Contrary to what you may think, once you have completed the active hCG cycle, continuing on a low calorie intake could cause weight gain. It takes about 3 weeks before the weight loss reached at the end of the program stabilises.
